Small Worlds
On a beach, I found a tiny shell. On it lived an entire world held together by sand, seaweed, tides and time. That shell is where these paintings began. Made with ink, paper, occasional collage and scraps of fabric, each piece begins with play and becomes a small world. Like the world on that shell, these paintings hold many things: memories, feelings, and dreams. Places I have been, and places that exist only in my head. Being underwater. Floating. Dropping down below the noise. Things coming apart and things being held together.
