HI, I'M VELA

I'm a designer-turned-children’s librarian who loves all things at the intersection of art and libraries. I’m known to squeal with glee at the sheer genius of picture book design (looking at you, Mel Fell), and I enjoy turning just-read-books into art projects.

Before becoming a librarian, I had the pleasure of designing greeting cards and holiday ornaments for top retailers such as Target, American Greetings and Hallmark.

I believe the right book can change a life, and that creativity is a necessity. I live with my copywriter/musician husband and daughter in a tree-lined suburb of Philly.
